"Hotel Ylem is a thoughtful renovation honoring family and promoting partners that share the common goal of changing the world through hospitality. Every detail of this boutique hotel has been curated to create a sanctuary for mind, body, and spirit."
"The hotel is collaborating with kindred business partners, promoting non-profit organizations, and dedicating space for local artists that share their common goals. Their main philanthropic support will go to charity:water, a non-profit organization that is working to bring clean and safe drinking water to “every person on the planet.”
"The design of Hotel Ylem from DMU Design is inspired by family, restorative water elements, and sources of well-being. From the shapes of light fixtures to subtle influences of fluid motion, elements of water are present throughout the design to evoke the mission of supporting charity:water. Inspired by generations of caregivers, they have put thought into how the guests feel when they are eating in the lounge, relaxing in their rooms, walking in the hallways, or conversing in the lobby."
"They have also commissioned local artist Janavi Folmsebee to create a large two- panel mural on the front facade of the building featuring a female silhouette. The female represents the “mother” figure who gives life to us all, and her image looks down as the protector. Clusters of sea anemones are suspended through water around the figure, invoking the key element behind their philanthropic cause. By refocusing their for-profit business to support a non-profit one, the hotel is committed to changing the world through hospitality."
